About VantagePick

Strategy for people who own the number.

VantagePick is an independent publication on search, marketing systems and business growth. We write for the founders, growth leads and agency owners who get judged on revenue, not on how good the deck looked.

Why we publish

Most strategy advice was never run by the person giving it.

You can spot it in the first paragraph. A framework with a catchy acronym, three statistics with no source, and a conclusion that fits every company on earth. It reads well and changes nothing on Monday morning.

Meanwhile the ground moved. AI answers now absorb clicks that used to be yours. Privacy rules gutted the attribution your reports leaned on. Every vendor has an 'AI stack' to sell you. Teams that carry a growth target need straight answers, and most of what gets published is written to fill a content calendar.

VantagePick is written for the other kind of reader. We treat every topic the way an operator would: what it costs, what it moves, and how you would know it worked. If a tactic cannot survive those three questions, it does not get a playbook.

Four problems we keep coming back to.

Each one costs real money when it is handled badly. Here is where to start on each.

How we work

The standard behind every piece.

01

Lead with the number.

Every playbook names the metric it is meant to move and what a good result looks like, before it recommends anything.

02

Source it or cut it.

Statistics carry numbered references, and every article ends with its sources. We lean on primary material: McKinsey, Gartner and Bain research, Harvard Business Review, Google's documentation and papers on arXiv.

03

Price the tactic.

Advice without a cost attached is a sales pitch. We say what a tactic takes in time, money and people, and when it does not fit.

04

Fix it in the open.

Search and AI tooling move fast enough that advice can go stale within a quarter. When something stops holding up, we update the piece. If you think we got it wrong, tell us.

Built for readers who have to ship it.

Written for

  • Founders and growth leads carrying a revenue target
  • Marketing teams running lean, with real constraints
  • Agency owners who want delivery that does not depend on heroics
  • Anyone who would rather read the source than a summary of a summary

Probably not for

  • Readers after a hack that works without effort
  • Teams that report success in impressions
  • Anyone who wants a tool list without the reasoning
  • Anyone who needs to hear that it will be easy

Three playbooks that show how we think.
